School Committee

Functions

The School Committees give opinions and make recommendations about the quality of education within their communities, and about other matters dictated by the Board.

Personnel matters

The Board must consult School Committees about the selection, hiring and termination of employment of regular teachers, Principals, Vice-Principals and community education administrators. The Board may consult School Committees about the selection and hiring of other local personnel. The Board must consult School Committees about the school calendar and year, changes in curriculum and the rate of introduction of French and English as teaching languages.
